Originally from France, Jean-Claude graduated as a Cuisinier in Strasbourg, Alsace and specializes in French gourmet restaurants:
Jean-Claude worked at the Maxime’s de Paris in Chicago as a young chef de Partie, Food and Beverage Manager at the world-renowned Pump Room Hotel in Chicago, and Maitre d’ of Western Look Resort and the Tucson Country Club in Arizona. In addition to successfully establishing Le Rendez-Vous as a culinary Tucson icon, Jean-Claude, previously, has also opened a successful restaurant in Chicago called Champs Elysees, now sold.
After passing the Le Rendez-vous torch to his son Gordon, Jean-Claude now does light consultant work, enjoys plenty of sunshine, and manages a local Bed and Breakfast in Tucson, Arizona, called Le Rendez-Vous B&B.
Gordon, son of Jean-Claude Berger, is now the new owner of Le Rendez-Vous. Gordon started working at Le Rendez-Vous at the age of ten where he first started in the kitchen assisting and watching his father until the age of sixteen at which time he learned how to bus and wait tables and did so until graduating from University of Arizona. He then returned to the kitchen to sharpen his cooking skills.
Gordon pursued his love of authentic French cooking and lived in Paris, France for three years. He worked in several top restaurants and learned all aspects of French cooking. He continues to supplement his culinary education to offer not only the finest French food at Le Rendez-Vous but to build upon his father’s legacy.
